Abstract

El nuevo polimorfo de maleato de paroxetina, Forma B presenta una estabilidad química sensiblemente más elevada que la Forma A de maleato de paroxetina conocida anteriormente. Esta superior estabilidad permite la utilización del nuevo polimorfo para la fabricación de medicamentos para el tratamiento de trastornos relacionados con disfunciones del sistema nervioso central y, consecuentemente, la obtención de nuevas formulaciones farmacéuticas que contiene dicho maleato de paroxetina en Forma B. Se describe también una utilización y un procedimiento de obtención de este maleato de paroxetina en Forma B.
