Morfología comparada y relaciones filogenéticas de Lissotriton boscai (Caudata: Salamandridae).

Abstract

The study dealt with 58 examples (36 ♂♂ y 22 ♀♀) of Lissotriton boscai (Lataste In Tourneville. 1879), and 32 examples of different taxa formerly included in the genus Triturus Rafinesque, 1815 (T. alpestris alpestris, T. capestris cyreni, T. cristatus cristatus, T. helveticus, T. italicus, T. marmoratus, T. montandoni, T. vittatus y T.vulgaris ), as well as 20 presacral vertebrae fossils discovered in excavations in Hoogbutsel (Bélgica) and dated to 38 million years ago in the lower Oligocene. According to Estes (1931) this endows them with the particularity of being the oldest find for the genus Triturus. The study was done both at external and internal anatomical levels, analysing the articulated motor apparatus as well as isolated bones. This allowed the following RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS to be obtained and determined...
