[ES] Este artículo pretende recoger sintéticamente la actividad desarrollada por el Instituto de Acústica en el campo de la Acústica No-Lineal y Macrosonidos durante los 25 últimos años. Esta actividad ha estado en su mayor parte relacionada con la generación y propagación de campos sónicos y ultrasónicos de alta intensidad, y la aplicación de alguno de sus efectos. Se han estudiado así fenómenos ligados tanto a ondas progresivas como estacionarias, en medios fluidos y en sólidos, desarrollando trabajos experimentales y tratamientos analíticos y numéricos.
[EN] This article deals with a synthesis of the activity developed in Nonlinear Acoustics and Macrosonics by the Instituto de Acústica, during the last 25 years. This activity has been mainly related to the generation and propagation of high-intensity sonic and ultrasonic fields and to the application of their effects. Nonlinear progressive and standing waves in fluids and solids were studied by using experimental, analytic and numerical means.
