Abstract

[EN] Chestnut rooting by growth promoting substances may be accompanied by some indesirable toxic phenomenons which may make avoid practical application of such substances. In order to know the best treatments for chesnut rooting, they have been studied different growth promoting substances employed under mixtures or alone. The best results were obtained when 12 mg/g IBA was applied, with higher concentrations toxicity may become evident. For the basic mixture 5 mg/g IBA + 5 mg/g NAA, its rooting capacity is increased by adding 0,1-0,3 mg/g of 2,4-D or much better some its derivatives. For the later chemical no higher concentrations are recomended, so they are toxic. Nor the CMFA addition to the basic mixture neither sustitution of 2,4-D for 2,5-D are not of practical interest so rooting was not induced. For some treatments there are a close correlationship between their rooting capacity and toxicity, which show the maximum during May and decrease at June.
