Abstract

[EN] Relations between the growth of Aspergillus niger and fourteen pedologic properties of one hundred samples of topsoils from the Galicia region (NW of Spain) are studied through multiple regression analysis. Significative simple relations are, between others, those showed by the cationic exchange capacity and the porcentage base saturation as well as those found between growth of micellium and the soil contents of organic matter, clay, silt, manganese and iron. However, the influence of these variables on the micellium growth are of an indirect nature due to their reciprocal relations and the dependence on several soil properties, specially, potassium and calcium levels. It is proposed a method for the determination of potential productivity of acid soils by four days incubation a 35ºC of AspergilluS niger on 40 ml, of an aqueous solution containing glucosa (5%), NH4H2PO4 (0,2 %), and 4 g. of the tested soil. Soils in which the weight of micellium is under 300 mgs. can be considered as being of a low productivity.
