Aplicación de la ordenación espacial de parámetros edáficos al estudio de la Cuenca Candelario (Sierra de Béjar, provincia de Salamanca)

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es realizar un estudio edáfico mediante la confeción de cartogramas y conocer la distribución espacial de los parámetros más indicativos de la fertilidad de los suelos. La zona de estudio comprende la denominada Cuenca de Candelario, donde se seleccionaron un total de 40 perfiles de suelos representativos, situados entre el Puerto de La Hoya el El Navazo (1000 a), y la cuerda de El Calvitero (2400 a de altitud). Se trata de una zona de baja fertilidad edáfica, frecuente pedregosidad, marcada acidez, pobreza en bases, destacando la existencia de fuertes pendientes. Estos hechos indican una clara vocación forestal, aunque en determinadas zonas puede aclararse el bosque para beneficio de los pastos estacionales (lugares de menor pendiente y pedregosidad). En todo caso, se exige un cuidadoso manejo con objeto de limitar la erosión. Dado que es necesario conocer las variaciones espaciales de los diversos parámetros que inciden sobre la fertilidad edáfica, con objeto de delimitar zonas diferenciadas (en relación tanto como con las propiedades como el uso posible de estos suelos), se han confeccionado cartogramas de cada uno de las variables (físicas, fisicoquímica y bioquímicas), observándose que las zonas con mayor altitud son más ácidas y húmicas, mientras que las situadas al Norte de la zona son moderadamente ácidas y con menor contenido orgánico, coinicidiendo con la llanura de rocas metamórficas o las pendientes orientadas al Mediodia.
