[ES] Se ha estudiado, mediante métodos anatomopatológicos (incluyendo técnicas inmunohistoquímicas) un total de 271 casos de abortos ovinos. En 164 casos (61%) se pudo llegar a un diagnóstico del aborto. Los principales procesos diagnosticados fueron la infección por Chlamydophila abortus (29,5%) y toxoplasmosis (23,5%), seguidos de salmonelosis (9,2%), enfermedad de la frontera (6,5%) y de forma más esporádica fiebre Q, listeriosis y campilobacteriosis. El estudio conjunto del feto y la placenta fue la muestra que proporcionó un mayor número de diagnósticos.
[EN] A total of 271 cases of ovine abortion have been examined by using pathological methods (including immunohistochemical techniques). In 164 cases (61%), a diagnosis was performed. The main diaseases diagnosed were the following: enzootic abortion (29.5%), toxoplasmosis (23.5%), followed by salmonellosis (9.2%), border diasease (6.5%) and more sporadically Q fever, listeriosis and campylobacteriosis. The study of both placenta and foetus has given the higher rate of diagnosis.
