Abstract

[EN] A total of 271 cases of ovine abortion have been examined by using pathological methods (including immunohistochemical techniques). In 164 cases (61%), a diagnosis was performed. The main diaseases diagnosed were the following: enzootic abortion (29.5%), toxoplasmosis (23.5%), followed by salmonellosis (9.2%), border diasease (6.5%) and more sporadically Q fever, listeriosis and campylobacteriosis. The study of both placenta and foetus has given the higher rate of diagnosis.
