[EN] During 1952, the response for maize seed treatment with β-indolylacetic acid and α-naphthaleneacetic acid applied at concentrations 25, 50 100, 150 and 200, p. p. m., respectively was studied. To carry out this work a hybrid maize seed from the Mision Biologica's collection was employed. Treatments were applied 24 hours immediately before sowing at 17° C and in darkness. The seeds were washed with distilled water and were sown in rows at random at the fields of the Mision Biologica. For each treatment five replications were made. For purposes of statistical analysis, nº of plants per plot, yields and nº of ears were determined together with estimates of undried and dried weight of grain and moisture content. No significant response was obtained from the different treatments applied.
