Abstract

The development of new orientations in an extruded Mg based sheet alloy is analysed upon annealing under different conditions. Normal graingrowth takes place upon moderate annealing leading to a strong basal texture. Abnormal growth of prismatic {} grains occurs following severe annealing treatments.
