La basílica de la Ascensión y Os Fornos (Allariz, Ourense)

Abstract

[EN] In 2007 the Cultural heritage Management general Office asked architect Manuel Seoane to carry out an architectonic project in the Basilica of the Ascension and in Os Fornos (Allariz, Ourense). The purpose of this project was the consolidation of this monumental set and the adaptation of its surroundings. Before the development of this project, LaPa-CSIC was asked to study the set. Two types of interventions were made: the topographical survey with Scan Laser and the stratigraphic reading of walls. Once this study was carried out it was possible to establish new hypotheses on the set and to confirm some of the already existing hypothesis about the origin, the functionality and the constructive moments of the basilica as well as of the Forno.
