The study examines the state of evolution of the minerals which constitute the fraction of less than 2 microns, in four soils from the northern slope of the Sierra de Francia (Salamanca). These soils derived from metaquartzites with small amounts of surrounding cambrian slates, are situated at different altitud along de same slope subject to a humid cold climate. The four profiles are: Profil I, Humic podsol; Profil II, Humic cambisol; Profil III, Ortic luvisol; Profil IV, chromic luvisol.
