[EN] Upper Albian to Maastrichtian carbonate (to mixed carbonate-clastic) rocks, developed in the prebetic platforms, outcrop extensively in the Jumilla- Y ecla Altiplane (SE Spain). They were deposited within the tectonically active setting oi the betic margin, during a late periode oi its drift stage. The lithostratigraphy oi these rocks is revised and a number oi new iormations and members are erected. New stratigraphic data show that platform development was controlled by both tectonic and eustatic controls, and allows one to distinguish six megasecuenceslim ited by wide-spread unconformity horizons. This paper is focused to the presentation of the new lithostratigraphic and sequential units.
