Génesis y clasificación de los dialectos neoárabes

Abstract

El estudio y la enseñanza de los dialectos árabes es algo extremadamente rico y útil, sobre todo por su potencial comunicativo que al fin y al cabo es el primer objetivo de toda lengua. No obstante, también debemos admitir el prestigio del árabe clásico1 en los países con una mayoría de población musulmana, primero, porque es la lengua de un texto considerado sagrado por la mayor parte de los arabófonos, y segundo, por ser la lengua de una cultura transmitida desde hace muchos siglos al lado de los distintos dialectos. La dialectología árabe tiene como objetivo el estudio de los distintos dialectos árabes, es decir, de las lenguas vernáculas utilizadas para la comunicación en distintas partes y épocas del mundo arabófono, desde Marruecos en el oeste hasta Uzbekistán en el este, y desde la época preislámica hasta la actualidad. Vemos, por tanto, que los marcos tanto geográfico como cronológico que abarca esta disciplina son muy extensos. Comprende, además, los dos tipos de lengua árabe que existen, es decir, el árabe antiguo, a través de algunos dialectos árabes preislámicos, y el neoárabe, que abarca algunos dialectos preislámicos y todos aquellos que surgieron tras la expansión del imperio islámico desde el siglo VII.
