Abstract

[EN] In western Asturias, and specifically the Vegadeo area, there is a long timber tradition, but until recently it has not been studied in relation to –or its repercussion on- the manufacture of furniture. The author attempts to describe and document this industrial activity in a rural context, the principal characteristic of which is to have been unique over the past sixty years, apart from better-known handicraft practices.
