Abstract

Durante los últimos años la investigación en humanidades ha dado un giro importante con la ayuda de las nuevas tecnologías. La incorporación de nuevos instrumentos a los trabajos que se desarrollan en el área, ha supuesto un avance notable para los investigadores, modificando sus habitos y métodos de trabajo. En este caso, presentamos el portal Manuscript@CSIC como ejemplo de colaboración entre distintas disciplinas. Se ha diseñado para poner al alcance de estudiosos y público en general dos valiosas colecciones de manuscritos escritos en lenguas orientales (hebreo, árabe, aljamiado o persa),conservados en las bibliotecas del CSIC. Dicho proyecto ha sido posible gracias a la creación de un equipo multidisciplinar para ofrecer al usuario tanto la catalogación de cada documento como su completa digitalización en alta calidad. Con ello se consigue no sólo la difusión de los manuscritos y su cómoda consulta desde cualquier lugar, sino la adecuada preservación del documento evitando su manipulación continuada y el consiguiente deterioro. La utilidad de la puesta en línea de estos manuscritos es indudable, facilitando enormemente el trabajo del investigador a la hora de editar o estudiar los documentos.
