Abstract

Procedimiento para la desulfuración química de combustible fósiles sólidos. Procedimiento para la desulfuración de combustibles fósiles sólidos mediante tratamiento de los mismos con acido iodhidrico o mezclas de acido iodhidrico con lodo. El combustible se mezcla con el reactivo de desulfuración y se efectúa la reacción a una temperatura comprendida entre 25c y 400c y durante un tiempo de 5 a 15 minutos, separándose posteriormente el combustible tratado de los reactivos utilizados. El azufre eliminado aparece como sulfuro de hidrogeno en la fase gaseosa, pudiendo aparecer también como azufre elemental en el propio combustible, en cuyo caso, se puede eliminar mediante extracción con disolventes. El método es de aplicación a cualquier combustible fósil solidó, siendo particularmente efectivo cuando se aplica a carbones, sobre todo a carbones cuyo azufre esta mayoritariamente en forma de sulfatos y pirita.
