Abstract

Estudia el papel relevante del cacao en la economía y en la historia de la ciudad y provincia de Guayaquil durante la época colonial y especialmente en el siglo XVIII, demostrando que es a partir del último cuarto de esta centuria cuando la producción y exportación de cacao se convierten en el motor de la economía guayaquileña.

Este libro es el volúmen LXII de la colección Biblioteca Básica del Pensamiento Ecuatoriano.
