Abstract

En el presente trabajo se estudian las condiciones eléctricas para la obtención de depósitos de AI2O3 sobre electrodos de grafito a partir de suspensiones al 5% p. de sólidos defloculadas con un polielectrolito. Se han realizado ensayos de deposición aplicando una intensidad de corriente constante de valores comprendidos entre 10 mA y 80 mA y tiempos de deposición de 10 minutos. Para estas condiciones se han determinado las curvas de polarización. En todos los casos se ha observado la gran influencia que ejerce la conductividad de la suspensión sobre la formación del depósito. Un exceso de dispersante produce un aumento de conductividad que impide la formación del depósito. Asimismo, se ha observado que para estos ensayos a intensidad constante la diferencia de potencial entre electrodos aumenta a lo largo del tiempo que dura el ensayo. Sin embargo para intensidades altas (>60 mA) el voltaje aumenta hasta un cierto tiempo (5 min), momento a partir del cual permanece constante. Finalmente, se estudian las características del depósito en función de la intensidad de corriente aplicada. El espesor del depósito crece con la intensidad, mientras que la densidad en verde del material depositado está directamete relacionada con el voltaje alcanzado.
