Cuaternario y Geomorfología en la literatura internacional

Abstract

[IN] Citations of papers from the journal Cuaternario y Geomorfología included in international journals have been analysed. The SCOPUS database was used, since it incorporates a higher number of journals than the Web of Knowledge. A total of 218 citations between 1996 and 2007 were counted, with an average of 18.2 citations per year, a higher value than that of most of Spanish journals of comparable scientific field, though lower than those included within the Science Citation Index. The Immediacy Index was 8.6 years. A positive evolution of the annual number of citations was assessed. The international joumals with a higher number of citations from papers published in Cuaternario y Geomorfología were Geomorphology, Catena, Quaternary International and Earth Surface Processes and Landforms. The papers published between 2000 and 2007 in Cuaternario y Geomorfología received an average number of 5.9 citations per year, more than any of the Spanish journals of Geography.
