Abstract

[ES]El número disponible de imágenes procedentes de Satélites de Observación de la Tierra está en continuo crecimiento, siendo además su obtención cada vez más sencilla y barata en los últimos años. El Banco de Imágenes del Laboratorio de SIG y Teledetección de la Estación Biológica de Doñana (LAST-EBD) dispone para una misma zona, entre otras, de 400 imágenes Landsat MSS, TM y ETM+ del período comprendido entre 1974 hasta las últimas adquisiciones del 2009. Este gran número de imágenes que constituye la serie temporal hace necesaria una revisión de las opciones existentes en cuanto a su procesamiento. Los métodos de corregistro o georreferenciación tradicionales que la mayoría de usuarios han implementado hasta la fecha suponen una inversión de tiempo considerable para una corrección geométrica adecuada. Con el objetivo de disminuir el tiempo de procesado para una serie temporal de imágenes de satélite larga se han testado diferentes métodos y se ha evaluado su eficacia y calidad

[EN]The number of images from Earth Observation Satellites available is steadily growing, its acquisition is also easier and cheaper in recent years. The Image Back of the GIS and Remote Sensing Laboratory of Doñana Biological Station (LAST-EBD) has at it´s disposal, among others, 400 Landsat MSS, TM and ETM+ images between the period from 1974 to the latest acquisitions in 2009 for the same area. This large number of images requires a review of options in term of image processing. Image to Image or Image to Map registering methods that most users have implemented to date involve a considerable investment of time to get a proper geometric correction. Aiming to reduce the current processing time, we have implemented different methods and have compared their effectiveness and quality.
