[EN] A previously unmentioned citation in the specialised literature of the presence of sturgeon (Acipenser sturio) in river environments of the Iberian Peninsula is provided. In the Die­ cionario of Pascual Madoz it is said that the River Fluvià, as it passes through the town of Armentera (Girona), has abundant stocks of sturgeons, and what is more, it cites the presence of Twaite shad (Alosa fallax). European eels (Anguilla anguilla) and the Mediterranean bar­ bel (Barbus meridionalis) in the same stretch of river.

[ES] Se aporta una cita, hasta hoy no recogida en la literatura especializada, de presencia histórica del sollo (Acipenser sturio) en ambientes fluviales de la Peninsula Ibérica. En el “Dicciona­ rio” de Pascual Madoz (1845-50) se dice que el rIo Fluvià, a su paso por la localidad de L’Armentera (Girona), tiene “abundante pesca de sollos”, y se cita, además, la presencia en este tramo de especies como sabogas (Alosa fallax), anguilas (Anguilla anguilla) y barbos de montana (Barbus meridionalis).
