Parl. y Pseudotsuga menziesii (MIRB.) Franco

Abstract

[EN] Genotypes of some forest tree may respond differentially to fertilizer application as they can differ in nutrient accumulation patterns. Family x fertilizer interactions were evaluated in two factorial trials of Pseudotsuga menziesii and Chamaecyparis lawsoniana in Galicia (NW Spain). Three fertilizer NPK treatments with different release degree were evaluated. Height and diameter growth differed between treatments and families in both species but family x fertilizer interaction was no significant for any case. C. lawsoniana, fertilized at establishment, showed better response to slow-release fertilizer placed 2 cm under containerized roots. P. menziesii showed higher response to quick-release fertilizer.
