Abstract

[ES]: Bestiari, adaptado por el entomólogo y director del Instituto de Biología Evolutiva de Barcelona, Xavier Bellés, descubre la visión medieval de la fauna y la naturaleza a través de cuarenta y cinco fichas de varios animales, ilustrados por el artista valenciano Moisés Mahiques. Los bestiarios medievales son obras en prosa que presentan las características de especies animales reales o imaginarias y hacen una interpretación simbólica. Los primeros bestiarios se encuentran documentados ya a primeros del siglo XII, a pesar de que sus antecedentes se alejan mucho más en el tiempo. Con esta edición, Mètode pone a disposición del lector el «Bestiari català» con un lenguaje actual. Además, el profesor Bellés se ha encargado también de realizar una cuidadosa introducción donde contextualiza los bestiarios medievales y, en concreto, el «Bestiari català».

[CA]: Bestiari, adaptat per l’entomòleg i director de l’Institut de Biologia Evolutiva de Barcelona, Xavier Bellés, descobreix la visió medieval de la fauna i la natura a través de quaranta-cinc fitxes de diversos animals, il·lustrats per l’artista valencià Moisés Mahiques. Els bestiaris medievals són obres en prosa que presenten les característiques d’espècies animals reals o imaginàries i en fan una interpretació simbòlica. Els primers bestiaris es troben documentats ja al principi del segle XII, tot i que els seus antecedents s’allunyen molt més en el temps. Amb aquesta edició, Mètode posa a disposició del lector el «Bestiari català» amb un llenguatge actual. A més, el professor Bellés s’ha encarregat també de realitzar una acurada introducció on contextualitza els bestiaris medievals i, en concret, el «Bestiari català».
