La Revalorización del Patrimonio Arqueológico.

Abstract

[EN] Archaeological activity has increased significantly in recent years due to: 1) The large number of building projects that threaten the conservation of known cultural elements, but which also reveal new elements, thereby increasing the amount of heritage to be conserved. 2) A change in attitude towards heritage elements, which instead of being monuments and documents from the past to be studied and conserved, are now a type of capital for cultural and social use, and therefore an object of use for the general public. 3) Awareness that these elements can be a resource for economic and social prosperity as they attract tourism, are a source of employment and provide quality to the environment. This context explains the demand for access to heritage elements, increasing activity to open them to the public, and the need to regulate and organise this demand, taking into account the fact that they are finite resources. For this reason an integral type of management is applied which includes research, the evaluation of potential and preparation for presentation to the public as the final point in this chain. The aims of this module are: 1) To understand the appraisal and enhancement of heritage elements from a theoretical and practical perspective. 2) To discover the instruments used for defining and managing archaeological projects, and enhancing heritage elements for public use. 3) Exploring the archaeological products and services sector. 4) Discovering a different model used for training professionals in Cultural Heritage Management that is already underway outside of our country. 5) Evaluating the importance of marketing and communication between professionals and the general public.
