La antropología biológica en Cataluña

Abstract

[ES] El estudio tiene como objetivo central presentar el nacimiento y desenvolvimiento de la Antropología Biológica en Cataluña hasta los años sesenta de nuestra centuria, instante en el que ya se puede hablar de una auténtica expansión de la disciplina gracias a la diversificación de la investigación. La evolución de la disciplina se concentra en tres períodos: 1º Siglo XIX, caracterizado por la indefinición. 2º El período de institucionalización (1900-1936), momento en que la disciplina irrumpe en la universidad. 3º La "Escuela de Barcelona" (1940-1970): la impronta científica de S.Alcobé y sus primeros discípulos (M.Fusté, J.Pons, A.Prevosti) que sentaron las bases de la expansión de la disciplina a partir de 1970.

[EN] The study has main objective to present the birth and the evolution of Biological Anthropology in Catalonia until the seventies of our century. Since then, the growt of the discipline has been constant. The history of the evolution of the discipline consist of three periods: 1º XIXth. century: the indefinite system in the most important. 2º The institutional period (1900-1936): the discipline arrives to the university. 3º The "Barcelona School" (1940-1970): the imprint of S.Alcobé and his first pupils (M.Fusté, J.Pons, A.Prevosti) who set the bases for the expansion of the discipline in the 70s.
