neo-Clerodane diterpenes of plant origin are molecules difficult to monitor due to their nonspecific UV/vis absorption. The present work describes for the first time the application of the LC-MS-SPE-NMR technique for the isolation and characterization of three new neo-clerodane diterpenes, 3β-hydroxyteucroxylepin and teuluteumin A and teuluteumin B, from Teucrium luteum subsp. flavovirens, harvested from two different locations.
This research was supported by the European Community Activity Large-Scale Facility Wageningen NMR Center (FP6-2004-026164 (2006-2009)). Financial support from MCYT (project AGL2004/05252) and an associated grant (Beca Predoctoral de Formacio´n de Personal Investigador BES-2005-9474, to A.C.) as well as META-PHOR (FOOD-CT- 2006-036220, to S.M.) is gratefully acknowledged.
