Das Schiffbaumuseum “El Dique” im spanischen Cadiz.

Abstract

The shipyard was closed at the end of the 1970s. Interesting industrial monuments have remained from that time: three port cranes, a collection of ship anchors, two harbor service boats and, the only riveted steel ship that still exists in Spain, the "Matagorda". Since 1990, the construction of a museum on the site of the former shipyard was raised by José María Molina, its director. The former harbour-based pump station has been laid out as the main building. The museum's collection conserves 8.000 objects, it has a range of 3.000 books in its library, 200 serials titles, and 300 films; it also keeps an archive with 2.000 glass negatives stored in it.
