Abstract

[EN] Crusades were very remarkable historical event during S. XI to the XIV. The Christians of the West, with the European nobility to the front, formed expeditions whose objective was to rescue the Holy Places, that were under the command of Muslims. The imporrance of Military Orders, under the supreme pwer of the Vatican, was based on which they were made up of organized and perfectly adapted armies to any adverse condition. They were ruled by military tactics and, for its displacements and transport they used the valuable Hispanic Horse. Papal Bulls applied to the exquisite treatment of these horses, "good grass". We emphasize like qualities of the "Pura Sangre Español" (Spanish Horse): beauty, nobility, docility, intelligence, fast learning, resistance, agility, arrogance, elegance and , especially, great complicity with the rider, that's to say, a perfect symbiosis between horse and horseman in order to obtain the wished aims: the reconquest of the Holy Places.
