Síntesis: Interpretación general del yacimiento de TAFESA (Madrid).

Abstract

El yacimiento de TAFESA se encuentra unos 5-6 m por encima y a 75 m de distancia del antiguo yacimiento de TRANSFESA excavado durante los años 1957 y 1958. Desde el punto de vista estratigráfico el yacimiento de 1957 (con Elephas antiquus) se encontraría en la base de la unidad Mz1 de la Terraza Compleja del manzanares (TCMZ), mientras que los restos de Megaloceros savini recuperados en 1958, estarían asociados con la unidad Mz3 (Unidad 3de este estudio). El yacimiento de 1996 se encontraría asociado a los rellenos meandriformes de la unidad 2 (b) que corresponderían a la unidad Mz2 de Silva (Silva, 2003), que en esta zona enrasa topográficamente con el techo de la llanura de inundación deformada de la unidad Mz1 yuxtaponiéndose a ella.
