[ES] En este artículo estudiaremos la traducción catalana de la obra teatral Ubu roi de Alfred Jarry realizada por el escritor Joan Oliver y la compararemos con la primera traducción española de José Corrales Egea, siguiendo la perspectiva teórica de la Teoría del Polisistema y la Escuela de la Manipulación. A través del estudio de los juegos de palabras y los paratextos editoriales de ambas obras, estableceremos relaciones entre las traducciones y la norma hegemónica en la Cataluña bajo el franquismo y la inmediata transición democrática. Descubriremos que, a través de la estrategia de adaptación, la traducción teatral funciona, en ese contexto, como una fuente de renovación de la producción teatral local así como también de legitimación literaria de la lengua catalana.
[EN] in this paper we will study the Catalan translation of Ubu roi (Alfred Jarry) by Joan Oliver and we will compare it with the first Spanish translation by José Corrales Egea, following the perspective of the Polysystemic theory and the school of Manipulation. Through the study of word-plays and the editorial paratexts of both plays, we will establish relations between the translations and the hegemonic norm in Catalonia under the Franco regime and the immediate democratic transition. We will discover that, through the strategy of adaptation, the drama translation functions, in this context, not only as a source of renewing the local drama production but also as a literary legitimacy of the Catalan language
