Abstract

[EN]The european species of Callirhytis Forster (Hymenoptera, Cynipidae) are reviewed. Three species in Europe are recognized as valid, as well as one bisexual form: C. bella Dettmer is declared as uncertain status. C. erythrostoma Dettmer and C. erythrosoma Dettmer are synonymyzed with C. erythrocephala Giraud. A key to species is presented. All the species are redescribed and, by first time, all of them are full illustrated. The alternating bisexual generation of C. glandium Giraud is described as new as well as the agamic form of C. rufescens Mayr is stated to correspond to C. glandulosa Weld. Therefore , by first time, the Iife-cycle of the species of Callirhytis is c1arified. All the known european species have a heteroecous life-cycle with an obligate alternation of generations on two different host plant species of genus Quercus.
