Obtención de carbonato de litio a partir de masas negras procedentes de baterías de vehículos eléctricos

Abstract

La mayoría de las baterías de vehículos eléctricos contienen un electrolito compuesto principalmente por LiPF6. Este electrolito, que forma parte de las masas negras obtenidas durante el reciclaje de las baterías, está compuesto por una mezcla de ánodo, cátodo, electrolito, y pequeñas cantidades de Al y Cu de las carcasas y envoltorios de las celdas. El proceso de reciclaje comienza con la trituración y clasificación de las baterías. La masa negra estudiada proviene de baterías tipo NMC622 y se somete a una etapa inicial de hidrólisis para recuperar el litio presente en los productos de degradación del electrolito, como LiF y Li3PO4. Posteriormente, a través de un proceso de reducción carbotérmica, se recupera el litio residual en forma de Li2CO3. El carbonato de litio obtenido de las baterías de vehículos eléctricos se analizó mediante diferentes técnicas de caracterización, lo que permitió recuperar un 90-94% del litio presente en la masa negra, con una pureza del 96-97%.
