Abstract

[EN] The satirical series “La pita de noche de šaḅat” was published regularly for more than 10 years in the Salonican newspaper “Acción”. In it, under the guise of a letter sent by its author to the gazette itself, the critical view of its editor is offered on a wide range of important news or events (both local and international). In this work, the recurrent use of dialogue in the composition of the texts is analyzed, since the author frequently gives the floor to many of the characters who parade through their lines, bringing us closer to the reality commented on, and allowing us to enter the sociolinguistic and pragmatic sphere of the Sephardic language of the first decades of the twentieth century
