Barcelona is a city with various sources of background noise due to traffic, tramway and underground metro transportation systems and its intense cultural activities. During the 2019-2020 period, the Geosciences Barcelona (GEO3BCN - CSIC), deployed a network of up to temporary seismic stations within the city, many of them in high schools and other educational facilities. Altogether with the 5 permanent stations available in the city, this provided an excellent framework for the identification of the sources of seismic noise in an urban environment.
