Abstract

[EN] It is common nowadays that many public monuments will be questioned by the people who inherited them (by change of political regime, usually), and this has happened all over the world (postCommunist Europe, Asia or decolonized or posfascist Africa, post-dictatorship America...). It is important to reflect on the logic of these changes in public opinion, and also on those other good conservation of them (for example on the conservation of the same statue of Pizarro in Extremadura or Peru, or Colon in Spain, Italy and Argentina). Along with this statue of Pizarro in Trujillo, are considered two contemporary statues erected in Sevilla (El Cid) and Huelva (1929) (near Columbus Franciscan Friar), all made by American initiative, and continued popular support.
