The following work focuses on the study of the Islamic ceramic from a house of the archaeological site of Barrio Andalusí (Almería), with the aim of recognising what type of ceramic ware was consumed in the 12th century in al-Mariyya. To this end, an analysis of the ceramics at the morphological, technical and decorative levels was carried out. In addition, the reference literature on Andalusi ceramics has been used to obtain more information on the dispersal and dating of the documented assemblage. This has allowed for a critical study of issues related to functionality, continuities and innovations, local production and imports, and socio-economic aspects of ceramics.
