Abstract

During the spawning season of blue whiting in the Catalan Coast, we have carried out three ichthyoplankton cruises to study the characteristics of the spawning grounds. Evidence is given that they are closely related with submarine canyons and the spawning takes place in the North of the 41QN and moves southerly as the season advances.
