[EN] Orchis spitzelii Saut. ex W. D. J. Koch is recorded for the first time from the Principality of Asturias (Northern Spain); being the northernmost record for this species in the Iberian Peninsula and the westernmost record for the whole species distribution. This chorologicalnovelty is presented in a biogeographic (at Iberian-Balearic level) and taxonomic context, discussing the assignment of this population to Orchis spitzelii s. str. instead of Orchis cazorlensis Lacaita.
