The complex Ni(Me)(F)(dippe) undergoes clean fluoride displacement reactions with Li(OH), Li(OtBu), and Li(NC4H8), affording the corresponding cis hydroxo, alkoxo, and amido methyl derivatives. These compounds display limited thermal stability and decompose by β-hydrogen elimination or disproportionation processes under mild conditions.
