Abstract

La aplicación de la tecnología de la activación alcalina permite elaborar cementos con bajos contenidos en Clinker de cemento portland (cementos alcalinos híbridos) o exentos de Clinker (cementos alcalinos). Esta reducción significativa de Clinker que se asocia a la Activación Alcalina, es en principio, una opción atractiva de acceso a los cementos con baja huella de carbono. En la fabricación de estos cementos se suelen emplear como precursores de trabajo determinados aluminosilicatos de naturaleza amorfa o vítrea (arcillas calcinadas, cenizas volantes, escorias de alto horno, residuos mineros, etc..). La utilización de estos precursores presenta dos inconvenientes: i) la falta de homogeneidad, y ii) la escasa disponibilidad. Para solventar estos problemas el objetivo de este trabajo se centra en la fabricación de precursores con una composición similar a una ceniza volante tipo C (~20% CaO en peso) [1]. En concreto se analiza el efecto sobre la reactividad de los precursores de la incorporación de fundentes a la mezcla cruda (≈5% en peso de fluoruros y sulfatos), así como de la temperatura de calcinación de dicha mezcla cruda (1000 y 1250ºC). Los precursores obtenidos se caracterizaron por DRX, FTIR, BSEM y RMN. Los precursores con mayor potencial técnico y sostenible se emplearon en la elaboración de cementos alcalinos.
