[EN] The compatibility of two peach varieties grafted on nine clonal root-stocks of the genus Prunus is studied during the first four years after grafting. Both combinaions Peach/Myrobalan B and Peach/Marianna showed the following symptoms of imcompatibility: unhealthy looking foliage and early defoliation, lack of starch in the rootstock and restricted growth. However, all the trees of the combination Peach/Myrobalan B showed the above mentioned symptoms, but trees of Peach/Marianna presented great variability in the manifestation of incompatibility, varying from clear symptoms to normal healthy appearance. When Brompton, Ackermann, Peach x Almond Hybrid and four clonal Damas where used as rootstock no symptoms of incompatibility were recorded.
