[EN] A statistical analysis of the results of several years observations on selections for fertility in diploid and tetraploid rye have been made to determine whether there is a correlation between the fertility values in bagged and open pollinated rye. The regression coefficients of the selections on fertility in open and bagged pollinations are not significant except for the original unselected tetraploid population. However a tendency towards smaller values of the regression coefficient seems to exit for selections on fertility in bagged diploid rye and in open pollinated tetraploid rye. Generally speaking the self fertility values are not a good index for the selection of tetraploid rye populations with a high fertility in open pollination.
