[ES] Se lleva a cabo un estudio sobre la posibilidad de determinar las diferencias en resistencia o susceptibilidad de líneas puras de maíz, a los ataques del taladro (Pyrausta nubilalis Hbn.), apoyándose en la infección natural y en la distribución uniforme de dos variedades de maíz, que actúan de testigo, por toda la superficie de la parcela de ensayo. El cálculo estadístico, teniendo en cuenta las diferencias en altura y floración entre las distintas líneas puras, permite llegar significativamente a la conclusión de que el sistema indicado determina la existencia de diferencias intrínsecas en la resistencia de las líneas al ataque.

[EN] A study has been carried out to determine the degree of resistance to the European corn borer (Pyrausta nubilalis Hbn.) of inbred lines of maize. The test has been conducted on the basis of natural infestation and with the use of two check varieties which are equally distributed over the test plot. The statistical calculation with the due allowance to differences in height and flowering time showed clearly the existence of intrinsic differences in resistance to the European corn borer between the inbred lines used in the test.
