Abstract

La Sociedad Max Planck es una de las principales instituciones científicas alemanas de financiación pública, de gran reconocimiento a nivel mundial y con presencia en distintos países, aunque la mayor parte de su investigación y desarrollo se lleva a cabo en Alemania. Esta institución se organiza en tres direcciones que se corresponden con la Sección de Biología y Medicina, la Sección de Ciencias Humanas y la Sección de Química, Física y Tecnología, y se estructura en tres servicios centrales: Administración general, Informática de alto rendimiento y los Servicios de información y aplicaciones donde se ubica la Biblioteca Digital Max Planck (en adelante, por sus siglas inglesas, MPDL), una de bibliotecas de investigación más grandes de Europa.
