Tre viaggiatori musulmani in terra di Al-Andalus: Ibn Hawqal, al-Idrisi e Ibn Battutah

Abstract

Fissero la mia attenzione su tre personaggi che visitarono l'al-Andalus in tre momenti ben diversi della sua storia; il primo: l'orientale Ibn Hawqal, che percorse la Penisola intomo alla meta del X secolo, ovvero, nell'apogeo del califfato di Cordova; il secondo: al-Idrlsl di Ceuta, che visitò l'al-Andalus nei primi anni del XII secolo, quando il dominio almoravide raggiungeva lo zenit e, infine, il tingitano Ibn Battutah, che poté osservare quanto restava dell'al-Andalus (il crepuscolare regno di Granada) verso la metà del XIV secolo.
