Abstract

[EN] This article aims to place the issue of dependency on the side of the responsible for social policies through a three-fold objective. Firstly, by defining and delimiting the conceptual reach of the terms disability and dependency in relation to the medical or social contexts where they are applied. Secondly, with a brief description of the territorial distribution of the dependency problem at the various geographical scales, especially at home level micro-scale, so as to assess how the care is provided in relation to the type of cohabitation. Thirdly, by means of a middle-long term trial prospective, the year 2020, as the arrival threshold of the Spanish baby-boom generation and thus make a forecast of the problem's dimension.
