[ES] Sorprende la postura crítica de muchos científicos y documentalistas ha-cia la información publicada en la web académica, mucho menos valorada que la que se ofrece en revistas científicas. El artículo propone tomarse en serio la web y desarrollar técnicas de descripción y evaluación de calidad de recursos web, una oportunidad para los documentalistas y una necesidad de los usuarios tanto estu-diantes y profesores universitarios como investigadores. Se propone un análisis do-cumental tradicional con indicación de las particularidades de dirección, formato y tamaño electrónico como valor añadido y utilizando las posibilidades del análisis de enlaces. Por último se llama la atención sobre la utilidad de las bases de datos bibliográficas gratuitas Google Scholar y Scirus.
[EN] The critical attitude of many scientists and information professionals to the information pub-lished in the academic web, which is usually less valued than that available in scientific journals, is surpris-ing. The article proposes that the Web should be taken seriously and techniques be developed for describ-ing and evaluating the quality of web resources, which offer an opportunity for information professionals and users like students, scholars or researchers. Traditional document analysis is suggested, with the add-ed value of describing the electronic address, size and format and using the possibilities of link analysis. Finally, the usefulness of the free bibliographic databases like Google Scholar and Scirus is discussed
