Abstract

La presencia de daño en la mucosa intestinal puede condicionar el desarrollo de cáncer colorrectal (CCR) a lo largo de los años. Se ha propuesto que la composición de la microbiota intestinal (MI) así como las actividades metabólicas intestinales podrían estar alteradas en etapas tempranas previas al desarrollo de la enfermedad. En este sentido, el análisis metataxonómico de la MI y el uso de tests comerciales semi-cuantitativos para analizar el perfil enzimático de muestras fecales frente a diferentes substratos se ha mostrado como una herramienta útil para detectar diferencias intra e inter-individuales.
