Antropología del tiempo litúrgico

Abstract

El calendario judío y varios otros han ido dejando su impronta en el año litúrgico. No sólo no desaparecieron del calendario litúrgico todos los detalles de otros calendarios, sino que la Iglesia los ha utilizado como vehículo de su mensaje, crístianizándolos. A la inversa, en muchos casos el calendario litúrgico se convirtió en el vehículo y mantenedor de costumbres antiguas. Heredada de tiempos antiguos, los fieles guardaron durante mucho tiempo la costumhre de recoger hierbas determinados días, como el de San Blas y el de San Juan, y establecían períodos festivos que la Iglesia debió regular con decretos. El tiempo lineal y progresista creyó muy pronto haber logrado el desencantamiento del mundo; evidentemente, el rito hoy no es lo que era en las sociedades tradicionales, pero perdura bajo otras formas. Todas las contradicciones que puedan aparecer a raíz de una concepción lineal o circular del tiempo, en teología quedan resueltas. puesto que Dios es el Señor del tiempo; es su dueño y hace con él, en él y de él lo que desea. Dios es acto puro. De aquí que no tenga ninguna importancia desde el punto de vista teológico que la sábana santa sea del siglo XIV o XVII, o del siglo I; para Dios no hay antes ni después. Si no se entiende esto, no se puede entender la teología de los sacramentos, que son la actualización del elemento trans-histórico de los actos humanos de Jesús. y ésta es la creencía que está extendida entre los fieles y que justifica su practica. Y puesto que el hombre se mueve más por lo que cree que por lo que sabe, poco importa que el tiempo de los historiadores sea otro.
