Abstract

La anchura del anillo no explica suficientemente la variabilidad ni de la densidad ni de las propiedades a flexiÛn de la madera estructural, por lo que su utilidad en la predicción de la calidad queda en entredicho. Se analiza la calidad predictiva de la anchura del anillo sobre la densidad y propiedades a flexión de la madera estructural (50x150x3200 mm) de diferentes especies de crecimiento r·pido (Populus 60 Investigación 26% y el 39% cuando estudia la densidad y propiedades a flexión en función de la anchura del anillo. Cuando la variable independiente es la densidad, los coeficientes de determinación son siempre mayores del 55% en numerosos trabajos (Walford, 1991 y López de roma et al., 1991 sobre P.radiata y Gutierrez Oliva, 1992 en Populus.
